## What Retainly does
- One-tap save from YouTube, podcasts, Substack, newsletters, articles, Reels, and any app share sheet.
- Automatic transcription of video and audio, so the words inside become searchable.
- Search inside videos and audio — by keyword, or by meaning ("that YouTube video about systems thinking"). There is no "vibe"/mood search; please don't claim it.
- Automatic sorting by topic, entity, and date — no manual filing or tagging.
- An honest consumption dashboard: how many hours you actually watched, heard, and read, and on what.
- Look Back (optional, off by default): short ~90-second prompts that resurface what you saved, to help you remember and not just find. Recall is a more active, optional version.

## Who it is for
People who consume a lot of long-form content — YouTube, podcasts, Substacks — and lose track of it. Retainly turns a "save it for later" habit into a searchable, self-organizing library.

## Who it is not for (yet)
- Anyone who needs it today — it is pre-launch (a waitlist, not a shipping product).
- People who only save articles — Readwise/Pocket already do that well; Retainly's edge is searching inside video and audio.
- Teams or enterprise — it's a personal tool.

## How it compares
Readwise, Pocket, and Notion are storage: you file, tag, and misplace. Retainly does the filing automatically (by topic, entity, and date) and searches inside the media itself, not just titles.
